Prepare to be captivated by the hauntingly beautiful sounds of Angelic Foe. This powerhouse female-fronted symphonic metal act has inked a deal with Wormholedeath Records, setting the stage for the release of their eagerly awaited fifth album, Amulets and Charms, arriving on December 6th, 2024.
“Angelic Foe is proud to announce the release of their fifth full-length album “Amulets and Charms” through WormHoleDeath Records,” proclaims the band. “This collaboration offers an opportunity for the Sweden-based neoclassical and darkwave act to reach out to new audiences and platforms that would appreciate their unique blend of different genres.
Angelic Foe is the music project founded by Annmari Thim Hermansson, who serves as lyricist, vocalist, concept artist, and composer together with Fredrik Hermansson, who joined the act in 2019. Annmari is also known for her work with Arcana since 2001 and for various guest appearances. Fredrik is known for his work with Pain of Salvation and as a classical composer.
The project began in 2006, inspired by Jewish mysticism and demon myths. It debuted with “Oppressed by the Heavens” in 2012, featuring compositions by Annmari and guitarist Cristian Ellingsen, and percussions by Mattias Borgh, with production by John Tyrell.
In 2015, Angelic Foe released “Mother of Abominations”, co-written by Annmari and Samuel Lidström, with mixing and mastering by Peter Bjärgö.
The third album, “An Evil of Nature”, came out on February 15, 2019. Composed and produced by Annmari and Fredrik Hermansson, it was mixed by Daniel Bergstrand and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory.
The fourth album, “Circles and Spheres”, was released on November 29, 2021. It features 9 tracks written, performed, and produced by Annmari and Fredrik, with mixing and mastering by Magnus Devo Andersson.

“Amulets and Charms” continues Angelic Foe’s presence in the neoclassical and darkwave scenes, with emotional depth and cinematic quality and with its dark, melancholic, and esoteric themes, exploring topics such as mysticism and mythology. Its sound is characterized by Annmari Thim Hermansson’s haunting and ethereal vocals, Fredrik Hermansson’s layered orchestral arrangements, and the use of a wide range of classical instruments.
The 9-track album offers an immersive atmosphere, with neoclassical music blended with elements from both rock and metal, showcasing the talents and visions of its members. This distinctive sound transports the listeners to another realm of mysterious and ethereal times past.
It includes contributions from additional musicians: percussions by Mattias Borgh, viola by Björn Jönsson, and guitars by Jhonny Göransson, with mixing by Léo Margarit and mastering by Magnus Devo Andersson.
