Hailing from France, symphonic progressive metal virtuosos Symakya has officially inked a deal with Wormholedeath for their astonishing album “Project 11,” scheduled for release on April 5th, 2024.
The band members expressed their enthusiasm about this significant milestone, stating, “Today signifies a major leap for our band, securing this contract. We believe it will unlock numerous opportunities on our musical journey, ushering in a new era for Symakya.”
Symakya, formed in October 2008 by Matthieu Morand, Kevin Kazek, and Thomas Das Neves, merges diverse musical backgrounds to create a powerful blend of prog, melody, and intensity. With bass virtuoso Julien Kuhn now on board, the band leverages their extensive musical experience.
Matthieu Morand, the frontman of Elvaron and guitarist-composer for Akroma and Dusk Of Delusion, brings a wealth of experience, having released 5 albums since 1997 and performing alongside notable acts like Iron Maiden and Helloween. Kevin Kazek, frontman of Seyminhol, boasts a rich history with 5 albums since 2002 and collaborations with artists like Lord Siggi and Alexander Landenburg (Annihilator). Thomas Das Neves, known for his drumming prowess in Deficiency, Seyminhol, and Heavenly, adds his expertise to Symakya, with a track record that includes recording the album “Virus” and performing at major festivals. Bassist Julien Kuhn, recognized for his contributions to bands like Diamond Dust and Surtr, showcases his skills honed at the Music Academy International and the Conservatoire de Metz.
Symakya’s project is rooted in the exploration of ancient astronaut theory, drawing inspiration from the holy bible, classical literature, and the works of Greek and Roman writers. The band has crafted a unique universe of conquest, beliefs, and mythology that reflects metaphysical and ufological themes throughout human history.
In “Project Eleven,” the band embarks on an inner adventure, delving into the quest for signs and evidence to explain human evolution, complexities, and the pursuit of truth. Their music, influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and the robust ’90s power metal scene, integrates diverse orchestral elements, creating a distinctive blend with a touch of progressive metal. Inspired by iconic bands like Iron Maiden, Tool, Shadow Gallery, Tourniquet, Pain of Salvation, Judas Priest, Symphony X, Kamelot, and more, Symakya’s sound encapsulates a fusion of these influences, offering a compelling sonic journey.
Symakya’s debut album, “Majestic 12: Open Files,” received widespread acclaim upon its 2011 release. Now, after 13 years, the eagerly awaited successor, “Project 11,” is set to release in April 2024. Produced by Symakya, and mastered by Mika Jussila from the Finnvox studio, this album promises to continue the band’s legacy of excellence.
