The mesmerizing world of instrumental dungeon synth and folk music expands as Teeth Of The Fae announces its signing with Wormholedeath for the upcoming album Beneath Pointed Hat, set to be released on March 28, 2025. This marks a significant step for the visionary solo project founded by Jamie Prentice.
“I am overjoyed to announce that Teeth Of The Fae has signed with Wormholedeath to work together for the distribution and promotion of my latest album, Beneath Pointed Hat,” said Teeth Of The Fae. “Thank you so much to everyone at WormHoleDeath for this opportunity, I am very grateful!”
Beneath Pointed Hat is a wordless serenade from the gnomes, those elusive creatures who, if one is fortunate, may be glimpsed beneath the cover of a mushroom or in the bushes behind a parish church. The album is divided into two Abodes: Abode I presents the closest expression to the old-school dungeon synth, evoking a dark, dank, and mysterious atmosphere inspired by the powerful works of Mortiis, Depressive Silence, and Secret Stairways. Abode II builds upon this foundation, incorporating a lighter new-age influence reminiscent of artists like Enya. Throughout the album, listeners will also discover sprinkles of neofolk, delivering glad tidings from all ethereal beings!
Teeth Of The Fae began its journey in January 2024, with Jamie Prentice crafting the solo project’s distinctive sound. The debut album, I Can Feel This Land Breathe, dropped in March 2024, offering raw dungeon synth and dark ambient influences drawn from Faerie Lore and the landscapes of England. Subsequent releases like Comforted By Sorrow and A Heart Full of Swords explored Catholic imagery, while Our Ways Are the Old Ways blended dungeon synth and neofolk.
In July 2024, The Unseen Beckons marked a shift toward raw, folky black metal with vocals, inspired by Finnish melodic tremolo and Catholicism. This shift paved the way for Beneath Pointed Hat, which masterfully blends dungeon synth, neofolk, and whimsical sounds, incorporating influences from Mortiis, Enya, and Ulver. Teeth Of The Fae continues to push boundaries, creating an enchanting and otherworldly listening experience. Set for release via Wormholedeath, the album marks a new chapter, as Teeth Of The Fae is ready to enchant a broader audience and take listeners deeper into its mystical soundscapes.
