DEMONS BY DESIGN, the side project of talented artist Colin Emery (PERFECT NME).
Drawing inspiration from earlier musical and conceptual influences, DEMONS BY DESIGN seeks to recombine those various elements in a new way and to present them in a contemporary fashion. This musical freedom allows for much scope to experiment with sounds and atmospheres, incorporating elements of industrial, goth, and metal, to name a few. The occasional collaboration with guest artists also helps to add an additional layer to a song’s atmosphere and impact.
“THYLACINE” is the third single from DEMONS BY DESIGN following on the success of the debut singles; “FEED ME LIKE A DRUG” (feat. Kirsten Jørgensen) and “SCARLET”, both released via Wormholedeath Records.
”THYLACINE” has a dark, industrial character, interspersed with atmospheric and melodic elements, yielding an intense and emotional song, mirrored by the lyrics that deal with the deconstruction and the loss of one’s self over time.

Colin Emery, the mastermind behind DEMONS BY DESIGN, is also the esteemed lead singer of the Norwegian metal sensation PERFECT NME. The band’s debut album, released in 2020 via Wormholedeath Records, received critical acclaim, and they are currently hard at work on their highly anticipated follow-up.
